Northwest Housing Alternatives (NHA) is pleased to announce that Trell Anderson will be joining the team as our new Executive Director. Trell brings to the organization 20 years of experience in affordable housing. He has served as the Executive Director of the Housing Authority of Clackamas County and in various positions at the City of Portland Bureau of Housing and Community Development. His most recent role was serving as the Executive Director of Caritas Community Housing Development, the affordable housing arm of Catholic Charities. Trell has extensive knowledge in affordable housing development, asset management, resident’s services and homelessness intervention services.
Trell recently completed the NeighborWorks Achieving Excellence Executive Education program at the Harvard Kennedy School. He received his bachelor’s degree from Emporia State University and holds a master’s degree in Urban and Regional Planning from Portland State University.
Trell will step in to succeed NHA’s longtime leader, Martha McLennan, this September. “Trell’s experience and deep commitment to affordable housing will help further NHA’s mission to create opportunity through housing” said Scott Bullard, NHA Board President. “Under his leadership we will strive to both continue our current work and find new ways to develop more affordable housing and provide services to help Oregonians achieve housing stability and independence.”
