Recognizing NHA Board Member Kelsey Heilman

Northwest Housing Alternatives (NHA) offers congratulations to Kelsey Heilman, Vice President of our Board of Directors!

Kelsey was recently recognized with a Rising Star Award by the Oregon chapter of the American Constitution Society. As a Senior Staff Attorney at Oregon Law Center, Kelsey provides free legal representation to low-income Oregonians struggling to make ends meet on matters related to housing, employment public benefits, civil rights, and consumer issues.

After joining NHA’s Board in 2019, Kelsey was elected Vice President in October 2022. She serves on NHA’s Investment, Finance, Audit, and Budget Committee. Kelsey and her husband, Jimmy, spend most of their “free time” supporting their third- and sixth-grade daughters in various activities. They also love to travel, including camping and backpacking around the Pacific Northwest.

“I’m incredibly honored that my work at Oregon Legal Center is recognized this way, and I’m humbled to serve on the Board of NHA with a group of caring people who are so committed to offering opportunity through affordable housing,” says Kelsey. “It’s a great feeling to have such alignment between my professional work and my volunteer work; between OLC and NHA.”
