Although the holidays are behind us, we wanted to take a moment to reflect on the generosity of our community that helped make this stressful time of year a magical one for the families living in NHA’s shelter and residences.
This year, we received more than 600 toy donations from a variety of sources including the Arbor School of Arts and Sciences, the KGW Toy Drive, the Willamette View senior living community, and KATU. In addition, we were able to distribute gift cards to each of the families participating in NHA’s shelter program through the generous gift of an anonymous donor.
We also received more than 30 coat donations for children and adults, helping to keep families warm throughout the winter.
The toys and coats were distributed based on need to NHA properties across the region. Toys included games, plushies, sports equipment, Lego sets, art supplies, and more.
Lastly, we wanted to give a big thanks to Walsh Construction for holding a holiday food drive for NHA residents as well! The employees there filled their bin with pantry staples and meals, ensuring everyone can have a well-stocked pantry this winter.
